The Urging of the Holy Spirit

  • As believers we have the indwelling Spirit of God planted in us as a seed that will assist us along the way in growing into the image and likeness of God. The Holy Spirit itself serves as an active “search and rescue team/azimuth” to help us get back on track when the Christian is lost related to drifting too far from the principles that God delights in. (Romans 8:26)

  • I have found, like most believers, that whenever I have neglected an area of my life from being directed by God, it doesn’t take long before I am convicted in my spirit and through the Holy Spirit; right now there is a current concern of not spending enough time with my children, related to duties at work. (Romans 8:16)

  • Is there any question that animals are most content when they are in their natural habitat? For the human being this “Natural Habitat” ultimately translates into being in the right relationship with God above, which is the purpose of our existence; being created in his image and charged to be transformed into his image. (Genesis 1:26, Romans 12:2)

  • When our life does not reflect God’s way of conducting business, often it can seem purposeless and unfulfilled, especially if you have tasted of God’s goodness. The urging of the Holy Spirit comes across as a strong desire that, within our spirit and heart, causes us to seek God, related to any issue that is deeply troubling the believer, and leads the believer to the only one who can get him/her back on course; God through his Holy Word. (Psalm 10:17, Psalm 34:18)

  • Gonna take the kids out for some exercise…, while thinking of that Great Christian Hymn that goes; “Thy Word have I hid in my heart… that I might not sin against thee… that I might not sin… that I might not sin… thy word have I hid in my heart. (Psalm 119:11)

  • (Genesis 1:26) – “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
  • (Romans 12:2) – “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
