For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.”
—Hebrews 10:30
Babylon (America) is falling. Racism, social injustice, murder, lies, and deceit is not new for this country or anywhere else in the world. As an African American woman, I have seen these things my entire life. In the past, I’ve acted emotionally towards every social issue and took on many burdens of emotions for the culture. But as I grow and progress into a Woman Of God, I find that my anger is justified but my right to sin is still null and void.
Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil.”
Ephesians 4:26-27
Have you ever heard the expression “anger is the wind that blows out the lamp of the mind”? It means when you’re overtaken by a spirit of anger, it blinds you and Sears your consciousness causing you to act out in your anger and nothing else. It is a spirit at work. “Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared.” 1 Timothy 4:1-2
The Word of God says,
But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back. And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them. …
Luke 6:27-36
God is not telling you to do this because you are weak. It takes great strength and humility to not act in anger in the presence of a fool! When you display expressions of God’s love towards your enemy is causes you to see them in their true spiritual place; frighten, confused, and broken. Discerning the spiritual root of their misbehavior will sometimes cause you to have compassion for them. Many people in this world are untrained, untaught and many of them feel unloved. That is why they behave the way they do, but in prayer, when you are open to the spirit of the Lord and have a heart of flesh, can see this and begin to love on them through prayers!
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
Romans 12:14
This is a very challenging thing to do amid anger but James 3:5 says, “the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.”
Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles,
proverbs 24:17
Rejoicing when your enemy falls or stumbles is a part of seeking vengeance for yourself, we must remember the word of God also says, “Whoever digs a pit will fall into it; if someone rolls a stone, it will roll back on them.”- Proverbs 26: 27 our heart should desire for The Lords Will to prevail, and God wishes for no man to perish but come into repentance. (2 Peter 3:9). We should not rejoice when they stumble. It’s mean-spirited and makes you no better than the person who is persecuting you.
You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the just and the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? …
Matthew 5:43-48
Got premises vindication against those who persecute you through his Vengeance. We must remember that His ways are not our ways, and his thoughts are not our thoughts. We should wait on the Lord and be constant and fasting and praying especially in times of anger that can cause us to go to a place of rage.
To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”
Romans 12: 20
I believe this deep-rooted issue we are facing in today’s climate is the people do not respect or want to hear the word of God OVER THEIR EMOTIONS, but the word of God instructs us to deny ourselves and follow his commandments. If we truly believe that God is God, then we must believe that he will seek vengeance upon those who harm us.
My article is in the way to invalidate your pain, your pain is valid. However, my article is to remind you of the word of God so that you are always in the will of the Father. Your weeping may endure for a night, but joy will come in the morning. Believe.
