Shake yourself from the dust, rise up, O captive Jerusalem; Loose yourself from the chains around your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.”
—Isaiah 52:2
Sometimes, holiday seasons are truly difficult for many;
Maybe it’s a loss or a traumatic event that stands out,
That holds us back from moving forward;
Or maybe it’s something that nobody else knows about,
Pain that is too big to bare, too big to let go of;
But then there are the rest of the days throughout the year;
Day after day, week after week, month after month;
They seem routine for many of us but for many others,
They are just as difficult and as painful as the rest;
They seem as though they will never end,
Almost like these moments and feelings are permanent;
But we cannot allow them to take away the blessings God has given us;
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:”
—Psalms 103:2
The many blessings that’s obvious to all those around us;
The many blessings that’s too many to count;
And we must remember that when we stumble and fall,
We are not at the end of our journey and it’s not over;
Whatever we are going through, it’s just a moment in time;
This hurdle is only a stepping stone to something more;
The hurt you’ve felt will take you to something better;
The pain you’ve overcame was God’s way of making you stronger,
Stronger for something you cannot yet see;
“He giveth power to the faint;
—Isaiah 40:29
and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”
It’s easy to lose hope and it’s easier to give up;
But when these times come and they always will;
Just remember, hope is often just around the corner!
The same God that raised Lazarus from the grave,
Is the same God that is watching you, today!
The same God that led Moses and the Israelites out of Egypt,
Is the same God that leads you through, still!
When the sun seems to set too early and darkness surrounds you,
Do not let it overcome you, be an overcomer!
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith.”
—1 John 5:4
Turn your sights to Heaven above and concentrate on HE!
Do not let your troubles get you down,
They’re only temporary;
Nothing of this world lasts forever especially pain and hurt;
All things are in God’s control, let Him have them all!
Put all of your faith in Him whether you’re standing tall or barley standing;
Just remember, there’s plan for it all so when down, always remember,
Christian, Get Up!
For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.”
—Proverb 24:16
