As Christians, many of us are greatly divided about so many issues and it only gets worse when we consider Christians who put other things before their relationship with Christ. This is hard to believe but there are far too many believers who put anything and everything before Christ which is nonsense considering we profess a belief in Jesus Christ-hence the name Christ in Christian.
There are many issues that I could list but the one that is having the greatest impact on our country is the coronavirus. The virus is also known as Covid-19, the Wuhan flu, or the China Virus which is not a racial slur because this is where the virus originated. There are people that I go to church with that are so afraid of this virus that they will not come to church and a few others still wear masks as a way to adhere to the pressures from other officials.
There are different members who stay away from others and may not even enter into the sanctuary for service. All of this would be a recipe for success if the virus was anywhere near as deadly as certain members in the corporate media would have you believe not to mention certain politicians. Government overreach is exactly what the current situation is made up of and we must be careful because as we have experienced in the past, problems like this are trial runs or tests to see just how far the people can be pushed.
President Reagan understood that “In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.” The same is still true today. Further, Reagan reminded us that “Man is not free unless government is limited. There’s a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: As government expands, liberty contracts.”
Politicians and citizens love to quote President Reagan because he got it. He was simple in so many things but simplicity is what most people desire and it’s typically the way to solve even the hardest of problems. 2 John 1:10 tells us “If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:” John 2:24 further tells us that “But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, “
Cheryl Chumley of the Washington Times wrote on April 28, 2020 that the coronavirus hype is the biggest political hoax in history. She explains “The facts are this: COVID-19 is a real disease that sickens some, proves fatal to others, mostly the elderly — and does nothing to the vast majority.” That’s not me speaking but Ms. Chumley and she’s exactly correct as she further adds “the facts are flimsy.” Because of all the lies surrounding the virus, she is unsure of what the real numbers are and she is right in her uncertainty and doubt.
Dr. Deborah Birx at the White House has gone on record stating the numbers have been inflated and possibly, by as much as twenty five percent. If she admits to this, who really knows how inflated the numbers are. Many, many medical doctors have come out and said that virus is not as dangerous as the media is making it out to be. The death rate of the coronavirus, according to the CDC as of August 10th, was .04 and the numbers for August 26, 2020 show that only 9,684 deaths came from the covid 19 virus whereas the other 94% of those who died with covid 19 symptoms had two or more preexisting conditions.
This is a Christian ministry so it is important, before we go any further, that we do not have a political agenda one way or the other regardless of who the president is. What matters above all else is the Word of God. Any candidate or party that tries to do away with the Bible is in direct violation of what this ministry is for and more so, what this country was founded upon.
As Christians, we know that we are up against an enemy that sets out to kill, steal, and destroy. We have found an enemy that is smart enough to realize that people are their own worst enemy. They truly believe that those in charge care enough for them to tell them the truth when it’s been proven since the beginning of time that when man is given too much power over another group, freedom is something that a majority will never know. Right now, we are in a real battle between holding on to the freedoms that we still have left and seeing them evaporate.
Napoleon Bonaparte explained “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.” Unfortunately, we are seeing a group of people sell a complete lie but so many are taking the bait. I have personally witnessed so many good people tune into their local news stations or a cable news program and they are so glued to their sets when the anchors are talking about the coronavirus.
There is nothing wrong with desiring security and safety but when a nation bargains their security for safety then the nation will lose both: “Any society that will give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both” (Benjamin Franklin). John Adams gave us a stark reminder: “Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself.” Unfortunately, we are seeing this take place right in front of our eyes.
The covid 19 virus is just one more example of how people can be worked up into a frenzy over the smallest issue. While the virus itself is real, the hysteria and pandemic that have followed are not. Again, we have a very clever enemy but right now, he does not have to work very hard to take us down the path of destruction. Too many God fearing people are up in arms about the virus and uncertain of what to do because they are being told to be scared despite the fact this virus has killed fewer people than the common flu bug.
Scripture reads: “But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation” (1 Thessalonians 5:4-8).

The facts are this: COVID-19 is a real disease that sickens some, proves fatal to others, mostly the elderly — and does nothing to the vast majority.”
