“Then spake the Lord to Paul by a vision. Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not they peace: For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.”-Acts 18:9-10
Here it is November 23, 2020 and the United States does not have a winner of the November 3, 2020 Presidential Election. This should come as no surprise with what we have seen over the last several months and President Trump even explained as much back in September: “I think this will end up in the Supreme Court and I think it’s very important that we have nine justices” (September 23, 2020).
This is one more reason why the president pushed so hard for Judge Amy Coney Barrett. For this article, I do not want to focus so much on the election or the result but rather, on the spiritual battle that is being fought. As Christians, we understand that there is so much that we do not see within the spirit world and typically, when we point out the corruption and the going on’s in the spirit world, we are labeled conspiracy theorists or just weird.
This is something that I have learned to live with as I have grown and matured in Christ. Regardless of who wins the election, we need to ensure that the results are calculated properly without foreign and/or domestic interference. This should not be some type of unreasonable request but far too many people are acting as though election integrity is not an important issue. When this is accepted, it is easy to see that the enemy is progressing with his agenda.
Since joining the ministry I have learned that despite what Satan does against us, we must remain strong in the Lord: “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD” (Isaiah 54:17). While it is nothing new in politics, this election cycle has been really divisive and has witnessed the most heated vitriol and animosity even from those who call themselves Christians.
My ultimate goal, as a Christian, and with this platform is not to spread my political beliefs but to spread the Word of God. People have told me that Christians should not get involved in politics but I disagree. In fact, if Christians are not involved in politics then we are entrusting those who do not adhere to God’s Word to uphold God’s laws and this is a receipt for disaster. This is not to say that Christians have to lead the charge in politics or make them the center of their lives but we do have to have our voices heard.
Clearly, when Christians are silenced, dangerous things happen. Romans 1:13 informs us “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” All of the leaders are ordained by God but with that said, if Christians are not involved in the process then Christians lose out on their freedom. Over the last half century, we’ve seen the legalization of murdering children, marriage redefined, and the confusion of what a man and woman is.
In a country that is full some of the brightest scientific minds; we have lost sight of the simplest of scientific thoughts. Among other things, when Christians are silenced or just no longer care, homosexuals are put behind the pulpits and corruption becomes just another norm of human life. Sadly, this is just a few examples. Without question, Christians are blessed beyond measures but we cannot put aside Christ because the way we live is interrupted by what He teaches. As Christians, we must have a desire to live by God’s Word which requires for our voices to be heard!
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek”Romans 1:16
