When God allows things to be delayed or even taken away, he always has a deeper heart agenda, a better plan and a greater testimony to give us. It’s really hard to see God’s will in these moments if we aren’t on the lookout; watchmen. But, if we make ourselves more alert,
1 Peter 1:13
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
daily study His word to know God, we can rest assured the phrase is all truth, “When we are down to nothing, God is up to something!”
We can easily get caught looking away, focusing on what we need, don’t have and trying to figure out how to get it. But, we must remember what God said!
Matthew 6:26
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Are we willing? Truly willing to go with out, to lose it all and trust the Lord with our whole heart to provide what we need, when we need it? Our Provider!
As a parent knows their child’s needs, so does God know when, what, how and when to give us ours. Are we fully dependent on our Heavenly Father to teach us, guide us and provide for us? Or are we spoiled rotten brats throwing a fit everytime we don’t get what we want, when we want it?
Are we busy looking at what everybody else has and growing envy? (Psalm 73) Seriously, God knows what is best for each of us as His children, how much do we reverence and honor our Father in Heaven?
We all need to apply this following verse in our hearts in reference to our Heavenly Father as well.
Exodus 20:12
Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
We are always crying out to God to understand, to gain knowledge and have wisdom and God will teach us, but are we allowing ourselves to be teachable?
1 Corinthians 2:13
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
We must honor God in all things even if it isn’t fair, even if it hurts, even if it’s not what we want or had planned and even when we are being done wrong. Do we forget this verse?
Proverbs 16:9
A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
We must humble ourselves on a day to day and even, hour to hour basis and trust the things the LORD is directing us to for our good, our growth and his glory.
Let us encourage one another to not get stuck on ourselves and our struggles and situations and pray for eyes to see what I see: someone else has it worse off, someone else needs help, someone else needs to see the LOVE and GRACE of God through the LIGHT inside of me. And I have been set apart, I have to stand alone, and I have been called out to let it shine, shine, shine.
I had something taken away from me yesterday and yes it was a little disheartening. It was promised to me and like that swept away. It was more of the making of their word; a promise and it being broken rather than what was given. I have a very difficult time with people who break their word, change their mind and not keep to their vows and stand in integrity. Integrity is huge to me. And, I’m always putting myself under such strict order to make sure I keep my word, and will do everything I can to keep it and yes there are times I couldn’t keep my word and it tears me up when I can’t.
Proverbs 22:1
A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
And, yes I know things happen, unexpected happenings, as well as we speak before we pray and get God’s go ahead and confirmation. So, we must consider and be understanding. Yet, we should be very cautious in what we promise and act to do for someone.
Matthew 5:37
But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
Because, our word should be our word, followed through and kept, because our word is our name. Our name is who we are and who we represent. Like Moses asking God who should he tell the people his name is, and God Said “I Am That I Am”. That is powerful and truth that God tells us who he is by His name. He is holy, righteous, faithful, true, reliable, will deliver and will never fail. That is the Name we pray in agreement with others and for ourselves. HaShem means The Name in Hebrew. The Name is reputation, personality and promise.
And yet, we must be patient with others, with God and with ourselves when something is taken away from us, and when a word given to us is broken, by our own mouth or someone elses. Yes, it stings on both sides of that double edge sword. No doubt, God allows these things to happen to grow us, to see there is none but Him who is Almighty and where we are to put our full trust and whole heart in. Allowing, only God to lead our steps and see we are all in need of the blood of Jesus to Passover us when we fail and to cover others when their word and actions fail us. That is Love that covers all sin.
God led my steps with mine husband to help someone with less than me, who had even more taken away than I just did, who needed someone to talk with and pray with to be edified to keep on keeping on, fighting the good fight of faith.
Then, God moved even more and touched the heart of the one, to give back to me what was taken and asked for forgiveness. Yes, that is how God works. He allows things to be taken away to allow our faith to be tried, to search us, to know our hearts, to see just how much we are teachable, and if we are totally dependent on him to fully trust him.
When something is delayed or taken away, can we stop our disappointment and look up to our Heavenly Father and say I trust you still? I know you provide for me and will never fail me. And, I know you want me to go out there in this hurting world and see someone need more than me right now. Here am I, send me!
