Many times in our lives we all have a great tendency to try carry things on our own. It is human and natural to do this. However, God never intended for us to carry every situation on our own. He is always present to assist, but we must ask for it.
Years ago up to two years ago, I work tirelessly trying to do things on my own with little to no help.
How did I get this way you may ask?
Most of the time, when we have suffered in the area of being left disappointed due to people not following through, we learn to do things on our own without going through the problem of getting disappointed just in case someone did not come through. I would already be in position to do it myself.
Yes, there are times we must take responsibility in carrying our own weight as scripture teaches us. [Galatians 6:5] Also, there are times we are to help one another in carrying each other burdens. [Galatians 6:2] We are helpers of one another. We are responsible for one another. This is why we are not called to do things on our own. God designed it to be this way. He also designed it so ultimately we will turn to Him.
Again, how many times have we went on and on without asking God to step in a situation? Sometimes too long and sometimes we never ask. We have not because we ask not. [James 4:2]
God want us to come to Him. His arms are always open and if nobody else is available, God is. He even tell us that He is our Shepherd and we shall not want. [Psalms 23] This is not only in material things, but in everything. Physically, materially, spiritually, and emotionally, and mentally. God is more than able to carry whatever we bring to Him. We can case all our cares upon Him because surely He cares for us.
[1 Peter 5:7]
So, whatever area you may be struggling with today, give it to God. Don’t try doing it on your own. I had to learn this as well and now I am living free because of it. We can take those heartfelt things to the Lord. You know, the areas that bother us the most. The areas nobody know about. Our secret thoughts and greatest details of our heart. God know all about it, but He is waiting for us to just come.
