Lord, you convict me in many ways
You make it rain, when I want sunny days
I ask you to stop it, you say no
Then show me water makes things grow
Bless me with something, I start to hold dear
Then take it away, yet you collect my every tear
Take me places I don’t wanna go
Push me past my ability, you bring me low
Call on you to change my situation
You say no, without explanation
You command me to be perfect in love
When others only provoke and shove
Treat me poorly, mock and shun
Forgetting all about victory in Christ is already won
Put me in the presence of people who annoy me
Then you say, show them my mercy
I question you, but what about me
For once, don’t I deserve to be happy
I hear you laugh, saying O child don’t you see
Your joy is with you already
I don’t feel it and start to wonder
Where is it, I start to plunder
Everywhere I try to get joy from
You remove from me, of things and people I become numb
Left with emptiness, desiring to be filled
Coming to agreement with you, all of this you willed
To empty my hands and remove the moat in my eye
My joy is in the Lord, for my sins he did die
Humbled and thankful you took everything away
So I can see you God and live another day
To testify you love me so much, to not let me stay
Blind in my own thoughts, trying to live my own way
Truly, all I would grab ahold of
Was temporary and couldn’t return perfect love
All was limited, nothing to last
Preparing me for eternity, before the trumpet blast
Revelation 1:5-8
And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
