No, this writing has nothing to do with the movie starring Jimmy Stewart or the ups and downs of George Bailey in Bedford Falls but about the wonders of a Christian that serves Jesus Christ. As a Christian, while we may not have all we want, we have all that we need and our blessings are beyond anything we could have ever imagined as it truly is a wonderful life.
When we commit our lives to God and allow Him to work, He is the one that leads and guides us: “Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established” (Proverbs 16:3), As Christians, when we allow God to lead the way by committing our hearts to Him, He establishes our ways. Although our thoughts are not always His ways, God is there leading and guiding.
Despite the things that we go through while on Earth, whether good or bad, we can always see God’s grace in it all. George Bailey forgot about this when he lost the town’s money and thought it was all over with but God was patient with him just like He is with us. When things seem terrible, we must remember that God is always watching over us because He cares for us and we need never to lose sight of this: “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you” (1 Peter 5:7).
God’s grace is forever and although we do not deserve it, He gives it because He loves us. He gives it because that is who God is and that’s what He does. In the movie, the angel had to earn his wings but here on Earth, none of us have to earn our wings because everything is already won for us not because we earned them but rather, because of God’s grace: “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me” (1 Corinthians 15:10).
Regardless of what we are going through in life, we must be thankful. Life is short and it’s even shorter for those who are not thankful. Think for just a moment about how fast life goes when all you do is look out for yourself and never stop to think about your blessings. Your heart must be pure to enjoy the things of God and it’s through faith that pleases God and when we are faithful in all things, it becomes so much easier to be thankful for all that we have even if what we have seems like a little. As Americans, our little is great for most people around the world and as Christians, our little is great compared to those who do not have Christ: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:” (Ephesians 1:3).
As a Christian, while we may not have all we want, we have all that we need and our blessings are beyond anything we could have ever imagined as it truly is a wonderful life.”
