A definition of compromise is to accept standards that are lower than is desirable.
1 Corinthians 15:33
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
We know what is righteous and holy in the Word of God. The Commandments and Sabbaths we are called to keep should never be compromised. [*Deuteronomy 6:18, *Revelation 14:12, *Exodus 31:16, *Romans 3:31]
But, then we have the tempter come to lead us astray in a slow process from one single compromise.
Genesis 3:1
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
We are influenced and pressured, even manipulated and controlled by peers, family, friends and foes. Not having the Fear of The Lord, we will not possess the boldness and courage to stand in and be “The Truth”. We hear ourselves entertain the conversation or as 1 Corinthians 15:33 states evil communications with “The little devil on our shoulder.”
I will just do it this one time.
What will a little bit hurt me?
It won’t kill me.
God knows my heart.
But, The Word says.
(Twisting of Scripture)
Before we know it, that small bite we sink our teeth in to compromise the taste of a sweet grain of sugar begins to grow a cavity in our very heart, mind and soul. Sin has opened the gateway for even more wickedness to take over our very lives.
From the very moment we compromise, lower the standards God commanded us to keep, we break down our boundaries and God’s divine law and order.
Boundaries and God’s divine law and order are there to protect us from being invaded by sin and the second death. We step outside of our cover being without a leg to stand on, in a wide open field surrounded by hungry packs of wolves, lurking lions, serpents and scorpions fixin’ to kill and destroy us. That sounds like a valley of the shadow of death, but this is no shadow.
When we actually sin, without true repentance and continue to knowingly break the Commandments written in the Bible and in our heart, this is the literal valley of death. There is to be absolutely “No Compromise” when it comes to followers of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. We are called, set apart, and chosen and that’s going to take The Fear of the Lord to establish a boldness to stand our ground to keep our boundaries for our own good.
Nobody else is responsible for our own words and actions. There will be no pointing fingers in The Day of Judgement. There will be absolutely no excuses. Let us check ourselves and see if we have compromised in any area in our lives because remember keeping the Commandments are as the walls of a city.
Proverbs 25:28
He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.
*Deuteronomy 6:18
And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the Lord: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers.
*Revelation 14:12
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
*Exodus 31:16
Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
*Romans 3:31
Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
