Many times we ask God over and over for the same thing, but why?

Did we believed that we’ve received what we asked for the first time?

For years we have been taught to keep asking, seeking, and knocking until the answer comes, which is true according to scripture. We are to seek and petition the Lord. We are to make our request known unto Him. But, there are also times when there are things in our own heart that could be hindering the answer from coming. Of course, we would hate to think that we are the reason why certain requests are not being answered. It’s not that God does not hear, it’s because our confidence is not completely in Him. There are times, in certain circumstances, we tend to put our trust in others more than God Himself. Which means we have created an idol.

God will not allow this to be so.

God teaches us to have no other gods before Him. I know, we don’t want to think of it this way. But ask yourself, do you go to people about your situation before going to God? Do you make God the last to go to on the list after everyone else did not come through? Did we go to God last after we did not receive that loan from the bank to get us out of the financial dilemma we was in? Did we go to God last after we could get no more help from the doctors concerning our health or the health of a love one? This is some of the areas we often times misplace our confidence. God want to be first in every area of our lives and when we look to human hands to be the answer to our dilemmas then we make them our God. So, the next we find ourselves in a dilemma of life, let’s take time to seek the Lord first. It’s only in this will we see our petitions answered.

*Now this is the confidence we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. 1. John 5:14; 15 NKJV

*Cursed is the man who trust in man and makes flesh his strength. Whose heart departs from the Lord. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes. But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land which is not inhabited. Jeremiah 17:5; 6 NJKV

*Blessed is the man who trust in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out it’s roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; But it’s leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor cease from yielding fruit. Jeremiah 17:7; 8 NKJV

We are to seek and petition the Lord. We are to make our request known unto Him. But, there are also times when there are things in our own heart that could be hindering the answer from coming.
