About 14 years ago, the Lord began to reveal areas of unforgiveness in my own heart. My mother had not too long passed away and I was suffering blows after blows of attacks. I remember, 3 incidents at that time that really caused me to experience a anger turning into bitterness that I really don’t want to experience again.
One night I was asked to teach bible study. The Lord gave me Forgiveness as the lesson. I studied and had a great illustration on how unforgiveness opens the door to sickness and all kinds of diseases. I mean I was teaching good!
Afterwards, that night, the Lord said, “Daughter, that word was for you.” 😳
The Lord was showing me my own heart and how I had to forgive. I had to let it go! No matter how much it hurt. No matter how much I felt wronged. No matter how much I wanted to see those that hurt me pay. I HAD TO LET IT GO!
Later on that year, God strategically set me up to see one of the person’s I was holding unforgiveness against. I was invited to a women’s conference. The glory was so rich! The Lord told me to go and hug the person I held unforgiveness against. The moment I hugged her, the power of God was released to break the chains of bondage off of her. See, she knew she was wrong but it took the love of God in me to release her. She was being tormented.
From that day, we’ve communicated and hugged each other like nothing happened.
Listen, God is faithful and He has given us the power to forgive those that have wronged us. We don’t have to vindicate ourselves. Let God do it, His way! God is faithful to forgive.
ARE YOU?
We have been given the power to forgive. We must use it!
* For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
(Matthew 6:14-15)
*Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
(Colossians 3:13)
*And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. (Matthew 6:12)
