OBEYING GOD’S INSTRUCTIONS WHEN OTHERS ARE TELLING YOU WRONG

Jonelle Maxwell

Have you ever been told by others you were going in the wrong direction because your obedience look crazy? They have tried to force their instructions on you, but you could discern they was telling you wrong.

If you have been a born again believer for any amount of time, your answer is yes.

Most times in our walk with the Lord, He will instruct us to do something that make us look as if we have not heard anything from the Lord.

Looking throughout scripture, we see how the Lord gave instructions to many and that was crazy. Such as Abram (before God changed his name to Abraham). When God gave him instructions to leave his country, the place of comfort and familiarity) to a land that He would show him, in the naturla appeared insane. Genesis 12:1

However, we know God always know what He is doing. Even when we don’t quite understand.

We must remember our walk is a walk of faith. God does not give us all the details at one time, nor does He give us the full picture. This is so we will place our total trust in Him and not anyone else.

This was and is my walk now. It all started in 2016 when I resigned from my employer for 19 years and started my own business. Born again believers was telling me I was going in the wrong direction because I was doing something they have never did themselves.

This experience also continued when I left one state to another. People asked so many questions that I had to disconnect for either a season or for good. Whenever the Lord is leading you to a new place, you must put on your spiritual helmet to guard your mind. The arrows of doubt is going to come flying from those that do not understand. Sometimes it is best to let people see the end results instead of trying to explain.

There have also been times people have given their fleshly instructions. God was not speaking to them concerning where I was in Him. They did not and do not see the plan of God for my life.

Understand people will give their own opinion about what God is telling to do. Their fleshly minds will rationalize your situation. They will not pray and seek the Lord to see what He is speaking concerning you. This is what you must also guard against. False instructions and false counsel!

Do not receive anything the Lord is not saying and does not line up with your current situation.

The enemy would love to get you in a hissy. You notice I said, “
HISSY!”

The enemy want to get you in a place so he can wrap himself around you, like a python, and squeeze the life out of you.

Getting you to go in the wrong direction will lead to years of back tracking and untangling. If this does happen, God is more than faithful to make a way of escape to put you back on the right path again with Him. However, we don’t have to go the wrong way. We can avoid it at all cost.

Let’s continue to follow the leading of the Lord, no matter anyone else says. We must know the voice of the Lord for ourselves to not follow a strangers voice. It is possible to do.

Keep going, stay faithful, and watch the results.

*For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV

*And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:17 NKJV

*Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on you own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct your paths.
Proverbs 5;6 NKJV

And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know His voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”

John 10:4;5 NKJV
