A willing heart gets things done
Don’t have to have much, it’s definitely not fun
When people are in need, we must give
It’s a creed of the saints in how we live
Most are homeless, most have little
But we are willing and God makes us able
As uncomfortable and humiliating as it is
The showers I mostly miss
But, to be on the field, up close and personal
It’s a great honor to walk in the foot steps of our Savior
It’s painful, not pleasing to the flesh at all
You gotta bite the bullet and it ain’t small
That cross is heavy and makes your muscles ache
But, we suffer for his name sake
Oh but those moments, a shimmer of light
To shine on another, in tears and distress in the night
It takes your mind off of your own suffering
We see we are not alone, going through the same thing
For others to see you the same, what they deal with
A bond is made sealed with an holy kiss
On level ground, can’t get any closer
They know you ain’t talking smack, not a poser
A chance to not pass up
A chance to drink from thy cup
A chance to break bread in communion
Mercy on the forefront a Righteous union
A chance to encourage, telling someone God is with you
It’s like doing CPR when someone’s face turns blue
A time to bless, a time to feed
A time to die to self indeed
A chance to not judge, just comfort
A chance to heal a hurt
An anointing with frankincense and myrrh
Truly the salt of the earth
It’s a bitter taste, but preserves so much
The Love of God’s Holy Touch
Matthew 5:1-14
And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
