POWER OF CONTENTMENT

In the lives of believers we tend to search for satisfaction in places, things, our careers, people, ministry, education, and so many other areas. There are nothing wrong with having these things or even desiring it, however, our satisfaction comes from being in Christ.

The other word for satisfaction is contentment. The scripture states that not only being content is what we should seek after, but godliness with contentment. {2 Timothy 6:6}
It also states that it is a great gain.

Why do we search for things to find contentment?

This we all can say we have been guilty of. At some point of our lives we have sought after things more that we have sought after God, putting things before Him.

There have been times in my own life when God have told me to put Him first. It is easy to get entangled in the things that is in the world. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, that is not of the Father, but is of the world. {1 John 2:16}

How do we know when have found contentment?

We know when we have found contentment is when we realize that nothing matters more than pleasing the Father. There is contentment in pleasing the Father. Not only is there contentment, but there is also peace. Another scripture come to mind, You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trust in you. {Isaiah 26:3}

Peace is found in being content as well. It is a guard for our entire being. Have peace in the mind is one of the greatest thing any human being can have. When there is peace, there is rest, and when there is rest, there is wholeness and healing.

I believe God want His children to find contentment in Him and in Him alone. In this we will find everything we need. We can rest knowing God has everything in the palm of His hands, including us. Let’s find contentment in Him today, along with godliness. For it is a great gain!
