so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.
Ephesians 2:17-18
The Love of our Father runs so deep He describes us as Branches of His vine. “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5) When we decided to give our lives to Christ, we made an agreement to renew our mindset in the things of God by “not conforming to the pattern of this world, but being transformed by the renewing of our minds. Then we are able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:3) The Bible says to love God is to love His Word. “But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him” ( 1 John 2:5). Therefore, the word of God should be implemented in every aspect of our lives including our advice and opinions.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, ( 2 Timothy 3:16). The Bible teaches us the word of God should be our foundational thinking because to live the word of God, is to be in the Father’s will. The word brings salvation, light, life, joy and faith. When we speak into “the universe” and speak over other peoples lives, we should be speaking the word of God which has the power to transform us.
If someone is sick and needs a healing, the word of God will bring hope, faith restoration and supernatural healing. If someone is out of order, the word of God should bring correction, reproof and understanding causing conviction of the Holy Spirit so they may repent and turn back to the mindset of Christ. When we claim Christ, and are quick to speak of who He is to us, it should be defined within what God considers righteous and holy. Let me give you an example. If a person says they know God but robs another persons home, is it OK for the robber to go online and say what they’ve stolen was a gift from God? Of course not. Their character should mirror the word of God right? So in that same breath when we are giving advice or offering our personal opinion it should reflect or mirror the character of Christ, is we are believers of Christ.
James 1:21 says “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.” Do what it says.” It is unbiblical, to claim to know God but not be a doer of His word. We must learn the word of God before we speak and pour into others, least we think we are doing a good deed but really turning someone away from God. The Bible says “Woe (damned to hell are you) who cause one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone (weight) fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.” The Bible also says “ there is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.” ( Proverbs 14:12). We have a responsibility to feed others the true gospel of Christ without our personal opinion that is rooted behind a carnal mindset.
If we began to speak teach and live the word of God we would have less discord among believers. More harmony and joy, because “we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
Run well.
