The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign LORD, “when I will send a famine through the land– not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD.
Amos 8:11
Right now the world is in crisis and needs a word from God. With television and social media taking a lead on what’s happening in the world, the voice of God is drowned out by fear. Hollywood (news, film, pop culture) and politics have all promoted the opposite of God’s word, and have desensitized the masses with corruption, deception, and evil masquerading as light. All of these devices working together simultaneously against an undiscerning believer of Christ is a silent weapon for a quiet war. A weapon that shifts your spiritual belief towards fear instead of victory in Christ. Now more than ever is the time to exercise our spiritual faith, and not lose this battle in our mind, because of what is happening around the world.
Our lack of exposure to the word of God, lack of studying the word, lack of sound scripture, or understanding of Scripture is causing us to panic during these turbulent times. Fear is a weapon that is used to manipulate you from seeing the truth, but a sound mind can discern properly and hit its mark. Believers of Christ should be in perfect peace, ready to assist, comfort, intercede and graft in people of the world who are in a position to transition to Christ. I believe if we focused on the assigned, we would not have time to show, express, comment or edify fear in our speech as believers of Christ. No matter what is happening in the spotlight (news) there is a spiritual weapon of fear at work behind the scene when your eye gates are open but not covered by the blood of christ. Every time in the Bible when the world (people who did not follow the ways of God, carnal, worldly, fleshly) were in crisis, the remnant ( people who follow God’s word and commands, The chosen people) of God were in perfect peace.
As Yahweh lead the Hebrew Israelites by a pillar of cloud, “He gave you manna to eat in the wilderness, something your ancestors had never known, to humble and test you so that in the end it might go well with you.” – Deuteronomy 8:16
Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
–Matthew 6:26-34
At midnight the LORD struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the livestock as well. – Exodus 12:29. Yet, those who took of the blood, and stuck it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, where they ate (Exodus 12:7) were unharmed and destruction did not overtake their house.
A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. In their hands, they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.” Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high because he has known My name. – Psalms 91:11-14
These are all Bible verses that should put a believer of Christ’s mind at ease when the world is in crisis. We should be evangelizing by reminding the people of the promises of God and encouraging them to repent and have a renewing of the mind and walk in the ways of God. Because we believe the report of the Lord, and delight is in the law of the LORD, and meditate on his law day and night. – Palms 1:2, this is an opportunity to advance the kingdom if we are not overtaken by fear.
I want to encourage you to not succumb to fear and rumors. “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.”-Matthew 24:6-8. But do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. ( Isaiah 41:10).
It’s our time to gather the lost sheep of Israel and stand on the word of God. This is also a great reminder for us to be in the word of God as Yahweh is still pouring His spirit out over everyone who has an ear to hear Him. The word of God states a famine of the word will happen on a greater scale. As “the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. (2 Timothy 43) Therefore I encourage you to make the word of God a tablet stone written upon your heart, and the word of God a lamp unto your feet so you can recognize the devices of the enemy and walk in the wisdom and understanding of the Lord.
Run well.
