(THERE’S A WAR GOING ON OUTSIDE, NO ONE IS SAFE FROM!!! [QB!!!])

How do we as Christians live a life where we are called to serve the Lord as being Single? If we are to accomplish anything, first there must be seen a value in executing along these lines. We know that God created woman out of man to be a helpmate (Genesis 2:18) and that God created man to serve as a protector and provider of the woman (1st Timothy 5:8). God also says in his word that two are better than one because they can help each other whenever they fall (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12). With the above in mind; why would the SAINTS even consider being single?

There was a newlywed couple who approached their pastor and were filled with frustration; they said – “Pastor, pastor; we desperately need your help, it’s all going wrong”. The pastor chuckled and stated in a rather whimsical manner – “No, that sounds about right!”. You see Saints, while marriage is honorable (Hebrews 13:4), it does not come without its own set of challenges and this is why OUR Lord cautions us concerning being married (1st Corinthians 7:26) especially concerning the last days (1st Corinthians 7:29).

There are many reasons why someone may find themselves living a single life that is devoted to God, as opposed to being married; they may have decided that God has not as of yet led them to marry, they may have been married and are now divorced or widowed; each situation coming with its own unique set of instructions pertaining how to live after these events take place. They may decide that it is God’s calling on their lives that they never marry (Mathew 9:3-12).

Whatever the situation is, if one is to live a life that is to God’s glory and worth living as a Single person; God says within his word there are a few things to be mindful of; one must be able to demonstrate self-control (1st Corinthians 7:9); understand that while we may not have a mate physically, Christ himself is the Bridegroom who we are betrothed to (Isaiah 54:5) and it is in OUR singleness that we can better serve God’s purposes, because WE are not distracted by OUR desire to please our earthly/physical wife or husband (1st Corinthians 7:33-34).

All in all SAINTS, whether WE are married, separated or single, there is grace ALWAYS, but grace does not mean that WE are free from the consequences of OUR decisions should we chose to disobey God’s instructions concerning single living as a SAINT; seed time and harvest will remain in place until the earth is done away with (Genesis 8:22) and WE are called to walk in the lane that God has called us in indeed (1st Corinthians 7:17-24).

If you do happen to find yourself in a scenario that calls you to live a life of solitude, in dedication to the Lord, God says that there are special provisions (Isaiah 56:4-5) if we deny OUR selves what the flesh may want (Mathew 16:25) and do it God’s way; which is ALWAYS the BEST way, Amen, PREACH!!! LET’S GO!!!

Scripture Support:
Genesis 2:18 –
“And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.”

1st Timothy 5:8 – “”Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever””

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 – “9Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: 10If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. 11Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 12Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

Hebrews 13:4 – “”Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge””

1st Corinthians 7:26 – “I think then that this is good in view of the present distress, that it is good for a man to remain as he is.”

1st Corinthians 7:29 – “But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;”

Matthew 19:3-12 3Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?” 4″Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ 5and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? 6So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” 7″Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?” 8Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.” 10The disciples said to him, “If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry.” 11Jesus replied, “Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given. 12For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others-and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”

1st Corinthians 7:9 – “But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion. But if they can’t control themselves, they should go ahead and marry. It’s better to marry than to burn with lust. But if they cannot exercise self-control, they should marry.”

Isaiah 54:5 – “5For your Maker is your husband- the LORD Almighty is his name- the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.”

1 Corinthians 7:33-34 – “33But a married man is concerned about the affairs of this world-how he can please his wife- 34and his interests are divided. An unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the LORD’s affairs: Her aim is to be devoted to the LORD in both body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the affairs of this world-how she can please her husband.”

Genesis 8:22 – “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”

1 Corinthians 7:17-24 – “17Nevertheless, each person should live as a believer in whatever situation the LORD has assigned to them, just as God has called them. This is the rule I lay down in all the churches. 18Was a man already circumcised when he was called? He should not become uncircumcised. Was a man uncircumcised when he was called? He should not be circumcised. 19Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Keeping God’s commands is what counts. 20Each person should remain in the situation they were in when God called them. 21Were you a slave when you were called? Don’t let it trouble you-although if you can gain your freedom, do so. 22For the one who was a slave when called to faith in the LORD is the LORD’s freed person; similarly, the one who was free when called is Christ’s slave. 23You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of human beings. 24Brothers and sisters, each person, as responsible to God, should remain in the situation they were in when God called them.”

Isaiah 56:4-5 “For thus says the LORD: “To the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths, who choose the things that please me and hold fast my covenant, I will give in my house and within my walls a monument and a name better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that shall not be cut off.”

Matthew 16:25 – “For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”

Prayer of the SAINTS:
God WE come before you in reverence and boldness; thanking you always for the possibility of doing so and the Lord Jesus Christ for providing the right to do so. WE ask that you allow US ALL; whether Single, Married or contemplating the other side of the fence, where the grass may be greener [or so it is assumed often], to understand this time in the History of the world that WE live in and the URGENCY in which WE are to carry out the tasks at hand, that have been assigned by none other than yourself.”

God’s continuous unmerited and unlimited Strength, Courage and Perseverance to the SAINTS of the Lord and his Un-surpassing Patience, Compassion and Longsuffering towards ALL in the Mighty name of Jesus Christ OUR Lord and Savior WE pray and in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, WE pray, OUR Lord, Amen!!!
