That Mercy

Kristine Cucinotta Murphy

When you let go of what troubles you
Peace come rushing through

A sober mind to know what is right
A humble servant in the Lord’s sight

He knows what we must endure
But, that we trust him even more

Things don’t always go the way we want them to
People don’t always do what they are suppose to do

But, mercy shall keep you from strife
Grace shall be your life

To hold our tongue and submit every thought
To not fall for the enemy’s snares or act in a way we ought not

It takes humility and self discipline
To separate from our thoughts and let God’s in

To make our paths straight
To keep us in tender kindness of love, not in bitterness of hate

Remember the suffering of our Lord Jesus
He didn’t deserve the punishment, the sins of us

When someone treats you poorly in your eyes
Don’t let it take you by surprise

Stay in obedience, we must suffer for his name sake
Don’t be caught off guard, stay awake

Keep on your armor of light, the darkness must flee
No matter how long it takes, hold tight to mercy

As quick as the adversity blew in, is as quick as it will blow out
It may return again, but we walk by faith to not waiver nor doubt

The walk is narrow, that path as thin as a tight rope
But the Lord is our balance, our only hope

When the weapons form, they will not prosper
That is what our testimony is for, to endure

To show no matter what may come
We are able to enter God’s Kingdom

By His holy Spirit, our helper
A willing vessel now and forever

He shuts the mouths of lions that roar
He lifts us above it on wings like eagles to soar

He stands with us in the fire of the blazing furnace
To show others his merciful grace

He puts the fear of the Lord in hearts to know
There’s no where else to run, no where else to go

Wrestling with the angel of the Lord on Peniel
Stopped by a donkey, falling over

Doors shut, no escape from your calling
Holds you up by your right hand on that slippery slope when you’re sliding

There’s no denying the mighty merciful power of the true living God
In the valley of the shadow of death, comforted by his staff and rod

Where are you? God said
The God of the living and the dead

You can run, but you can’t hide
Fear and trembling inside

Knees fall weak to the ground
Face to face with mercy to abound

Stop where you are, know your maker
Before you are met with the under taker

Everyone has an appointed time of when they shall die
Let mercy be the sparkle in your eye

Hebrews 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Psalm 51:1-2
Have mercy upon me, O God,
according to thy lovingkindness:
according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies
blot out my transgressions.
Wash me throughly from mine iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin.

Matthew 9:13
But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Numbers 6:24-26
The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

Ephesians 2:4-5
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved).

The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

1 Peter 5:10
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

Micah 7:18
Who is a God like unto thee,
that pardoneth iniquity,
and passeth by the transgression
of the remnant of his heritage?
he retaineth not his anger for ever,
because he delighteth in mercy.

Matthew 6:14
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Matthew 18:21-22
Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
