Whatever your complaint is that someone isn’t doing for you, to serve you, hear your own complaint as if God is speaking that very complaint to you in your relationship with him, because he is.
Matthew 7:3-5
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
The phrase “Eat your own words” is fitting here.
Revelation 10:9
“And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.”
Those who have ears to hear, let him hear.
We aren’t here to be pleased by people, to be served, but to please and serve God Almighty.
Seriously consider, who truly is first in your heart and mind in your life. Because, we are easily distracted to lose our focus.
Isaiah 53:6
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Let us check ourselves. Let us ask ourselves, are my eyes, my mind and heart focused on pleasing God or being pleased by man/woman?
Revelation 2:4-5
Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
There is an urgency to get right before the mercy seat of God.
Prayer:
Father, somewhere I have wandered astray from keeping my focus on you, to serve you and please you. God, I love because you first loved me. You are my first love and may I return to keep you my first love. Forgive me and help me by your Holy Spirit to put you and keep you first in my life, to seek to serve you and have you seek me. Search me O God, know me, I need you God and can do nothing without you. I feel what it is like to be rejected, ignored, disrespected and down right treated poorly, a disgrace to me, I plea for your forgiveness in ever treating you God in those ways. I ask for your tender mercy on my life, to rest in you and be filled by your Holy Spirit to bear good fruit alone, by your grace to be humble and merciful with everyone else around me and in my immediate family and relationships that you have called me to, with undeserved favor to shine your light on others to see you, to know you and desire you, not to desire me, but you alone O God, none of me, all of you, keep me and bless me to not wander astray but to stay right where you are in all unfailing love and grace, a life of abundance in heavenly riches of your glory and honor in Jesus name it is so.”
