We have seen the walking dead, the naysayers, and the stiff-necked people. We have even been them. We hit a dead end.
We took matters in our own hands and went our own way, not a doubt in my mind by recalling our decisions and how they were made.
Yet, God shall make our path straight again, if that we take the way of escape, diligently seek him and obey his voice. We have so many ideas, what we believe is right or the thought it’s too late now, I already made my choice and started going this way.
It is not too late!
We must seek God for guidance, even and especially if we already made our own decision and put in our heart, mind, time, work, and money to do something God didn’t say do, he made a way of escape!
Yes, it will cost us what we put into it and our pride, a true moment, turned right into humility, remorse and repentance.
And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”–1 Samuel 15:22
If it wasn’t God’s will, it shall not stand, to lose is to gain.
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.“—Matthew 7:27
We either grow impatient or neglect the warnings of God to stop and go the right way; his way, because we already made up our own mind, our own decision that put us in momentum like a rip current. Knowing, we would lose strength if we went against it now, but too caught up in ourselves to not admit our mistake and bail out now in all humility.
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”–1 Corinthians 10:13
We believe God will make it good and end up being pulled out farther and farther from that celestial shore and not just make our escape and get out of it. All from ignoring the commands and direction from the voice of God to get back in His will on the right path again.
Probably 7 years ago, it’s been a while, I asked everyone I knew, scholars, theologians, pastors, believers and even God. What is that way of escape? In all seriousness, I wanted to know, I just had to know. How can you escape if you don’t know the escape? Mine heart cried. I never got an answer. People would just tell me you will know when God shows you. Well, God just showed me now. And in case anyone else desires to know what that escape is, it is through nothing more and nothing short of humility. Knowing we can do nothing without God and being in his will. Knowing we must live in truth, and even if we stumble or fall, we must confess and seek mercy. Knowing God’s grace is undeserved but freely given to us. Knowing we will not get to heaven without the blood of Jesus Christ, without forgiveness, without our helper: The Holy Ghost and picking up our cross and follow him to be discipled and make disciples.
A rip current will pull you out and even down and under. If you try to go against it, it will drain you of all of your strength and you will stink below and drown. The only way to escape out of a rip current is to come to truth you are in danger and to immediately escape, turn right out of it.
About the only good that shall come of it be: Fear of the LORD to be more diligent and cautious to seek his direction with a witnessing testimony to warn others. And, we all know warnings aren’t what most listen to. But, that rod!
We are children of the Living God
He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.“
Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.“
God will bring us to a dead end, we will be beat and we will know it. And it will take even more time and patience to get where God said to go. How long depends on how long we went with that rip current before we escaped to go where God intended us to be. Where is that? God knows, ask him.
But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.
11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.
12 And when ye come into an house, salute it.
13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;
18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
