Vegging Out

I have earbuds and listen to my own abiding worship music and sometimes, draw or colour or just let the audio Bible play. An environment of water is another of my favorite focus starters to get my mind on God alone. You can find something pure, wholesome, godly to do or be to veg that gives God glory.
Even a walk in a quiet place. Hide in your closet. There’s always somewhere to go or someway to block out the world long enough to veg out.

Jesus went to be alone countless times.

You need to train.

And you do so by praying first to God to help you clear your mind and think of nothing and just be still and abide in him, you can do all things through Christ.

Pray God clears your mind to be still and rest and abide in him. If you fall asleep maybe that’s what you need.

Breathe.
Focus on your breathing.

Pray God clears your mind, he is able.

Train being still and just abide in him.

Thank God for that breath and keep breathing and see where God takes you.

You have to start focusing on God to have him clear your mind and keep it still.

God, here I am in need of vegging out and not think, clear my mind from thinking let me just abide in you, your love, your peace and joy in Jesus name

If you start thinking again, recognize you are thinking, then you have to stop and redirect your focus on God’s peace, love and joy.

It is a training of submitting your thoughts to God and meditate solely on God’s peace.

Every mind, whether you are aware or not needs a focus to veg out or people wouldn’t say they need television, which is a bad place for vegging out. While you veg out to television, your mind still meditates on what it hears.

But, many not yet come to truth to set their mind on things above and do it. Meditate day and night on holiness righteousness, things above, which by God’s Spirit alone brings the cleaning of one’s heart and clearing of one’s mind.

Listen and become.

Shhhhhh

God, I desire space alone with you in an intimate relationship to clear my mind and cleanse my heart and just abide in you and if you have me fall asleep I trust that is the need you are blessing me with.

Keep me still, my mind, my body, my soul in your green pastures and still quiet waters. Purify me O God in Jesus name

You may be in his presence to hear his Divine appointments, but you must train to rest in him as he calls you to.

To rest in the Lord is to go deep, below the surface and grow your intimate relationship with him that only you can discipline and train yourself to do.

John 5:39-40
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

James 4:8
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Colossians 3:1-2
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Psalm 37:7
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him….

John 15:4
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

Psalm 23:2
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

Psalm 63:1-8
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
