Walk Away

Kristine Cucinotta Murphy

There’s no need to stay in range of an angry man
Staying to argue is only a fire that will fan

Out of control and you will get burned
Recall of Scripture and all of humility learned

There’s no reasoning with loud obnoxoius belligerence
Walk away quietly while you have the chance

The blaming words they speak and every false accusation
Ain’t worth it to defend yourself, in the Lord is your worth and Salvation

No one’s lack of self control
Is worth falling down in the same dark hole

Lift him to God to deal with it
Find a safe place so you don’t get hit

Truly there are demons influencing his weakness
Stay calm, stay steady in righteousness

Their threats and words they will have to soon eat
Being held accountable before the Lord’s judgement seat

Walk away, say not a word
This battle is for the Lord

Let what will come, let what may
The Lord will have the final say

When he speaks and acts in a rage of vengeance
All you can do is hope and pray for true repentance

But, don’t think for a minute you can reveal
Their need for their heart to heal

Only God can convict a man’s heart
And until he does, protect yourself, walk away, discernment is an art

Proverbs 29:22-27
An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.

23 A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.

25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.

26 Many seek the ruler’s favour; but every man’s judgment cometh from the Lord.

27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.
