Why does it seems like God is speaking so much to us concerning forgiveness lately?
Well, unforgiveness have been one of the biggest hindrances amongst born again believers. Unfortunately, when things happen to us, the natural thing to do is hold unforgiveness, offenses, and grudges in our hearts. Then, eventually, it turns into bitterness. I’ve posted about unforgiveness plenty of times. Even my own experiences concerning how the Lord delivered me from unforgiveness.
Truth is, we all at some point held unforgiveness in our hearts. Whether we want to admit it or not. It’s the truth.“
So, what keep our prayers from being answered. Well, one area is unforgiveness. Let’s think. How many times have the Lord forgave us? How many times have we’ve done wrong, went to the Lord, and asked for forgiveness. Even before we accepted Jesus in our hearts, He had already forgiving us. Forgiveness have been made available to us because of the Cross.
This is something we must see. We must see through the eyes of the Cross. We must extend the same forgiveness we have been given. How long will we continue to not forgive? How long will we continue to allow our prayers for one another to be hindered because we choose not to forgive?
I believe the Lord is going to continue to work on all of our hearts concerning this. It’s going to take us all working together to change what’s going on in the world, but it’s going to take us FORGIVING.
*And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.(Mark 11:25)
*But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.(Mark 11:26)
*And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:23)
*Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. (Matthew 18:21;22)
